Else and Hans Reinl, a married couple, have been visiting Bacharach for 50 years

Since June 1968, Else and Hans Reinl from Copenhagen have been spending their vacations in Bacharach on a regular basis. “But actually,” says Hans Reinl, “we wanted to go to Bingen because of the wine.” When they stopped their car at the market square in Bacharach back then for a short break, the young Danish couple was so enchanted by the old town that they changed their plans on the spot and looked for a place to stay in Bacharach.

Since the summer of 1968, the Reinls have been visiting Bacharach once or twice a year to enjoy the spectacular Rhine scenery and the hospitality of the region. After staying with the Zahn family in Bacharach-Steeg during their first vacations, they have been guests at the Malerwinkel guesthouse in Bacharach for over 30 years. Over the years, they developed close personal ties with the Vollmer family, and Bacharach became a second home for Else and Hans Reinl.

Today, Armin and Daniela Vollmer are delighted to continue their long-standing friendship with the Reinls and, as hosts at the Malerwinkel Guesthouse, to offer their guests a wonderful stay.

As a token of appreciation for Hans and Else Reinl’s longstanding loyalty to the region, Mayor Karl-Heinz Schleis presented them with a commemorative plate bearing the coat of arms of the city of Bacharach, and Christian Kuhn, managing director of Rhein-Nahe Touristik, presented them with a bouquet of flowers.
