Wine has been grown on the Rhine and Nahe for many centuries. The fairy-tale cultural landscape with the gently rolling vineyards, the Rhine flowing in between and the many castles and palaces symbolize the special beauty of this landscape.
Many of the numerous wineries still work the particularly difficult steep slopes to capture the character of the Rhine and Nahe in the wine bottle. The age-old tradition of winegrowing under the most adverse conditions is still alive here today and represents real manual labor. Visit our wineries and wine taverns, feel the spirit of the region enjoy top wines from the Rhine and Nahe.
Bastian Winery
Am historischen Marktplatz gelegen, befindet sich im 1421 erbauten Gutshof „Zum grünen Baum“ das Weingut der Familie Bastian, die eine mehr als dreihundertjährige Weinbautradition in den Schiefersteillagen des Viertälergebietes pflegt.
Im Jahr 1797 gelangte die Familie Bastian in den alleinigen Besitz der Rheininsel „Heyles’en Werth“. Dort wird der einzigartige „Bacharacher Inselwein“ erzeugt. Das Weingut gehört zu den führenden Betrieben des Oberen Mittelrheintales. Empfohlen von Gault Millau, Feinschmecker Mondo, Weinwelt, Alles über Wein, u.a.

Winery Bernhard Prass
The Bernhard Prass winery is a family business and can be traced back in history to the year 1510. The vineyards are located in the Bacharach Wolfshöhle site, whose pure southern slopes, paired with slate and graywacke weathered soils, are a guarantee for top wines.
Through forward-thinking modern vineyard management and targeted yield regulation, wines with fruity and varietal aromas are achieved. A selective hand harvest is a matter of course for us.
We are a member of the Mittelrhein Riesling Charta.

Unseren Familienbetrieb finden Sie in einer der schönsten Regionen Deutschlands – im UNESCO Welterbe „Oberes Mittelrheintal“. Auf 3,5 ha Rebfläche betreiben wir ökologischen Weinbau in den besten Steillagen von Bacharach, Oberwesel und Oberdiebach. Unser Betrieb ist Mitglied im Bundesverband Ökologischer Weinbau (ECOVIN) und wird jährlich zertifiziert.
Rieslingweine und Spätburgunder Rotweine aus kontrolliert ökologischem Anbau (ECOVIN); eigene Versektung nach dem traditionellen Flaschengärverfahren; kulinarische Weinproben und Teilnahme der Mittelrhein-Momente.

Our winery is located in Bacharach, in the romantic narrow valley of the Rhine, in a unique, ancient cultural landscape, which is decisively shaped by viticulture.
In 1975 I, Peter Jost, Dipl. Ing. Weinbau, took over the business from my father Toni. In honor of my father, who had preserved the winery in difficult war and post-war times and who had handed over to me an economically healthy business, we kept the name Toni Jost for our winery for the first time. Until then, it was customary to name the winery after the respective owner (Toni, Phillip, Adam Jost).
Today, the winery covers 12 hectares of vineyards; 80 percent of them are planted with Riesling, 15 percent of the vineyards are planted with Pinot Noir, and we have also planted one parcel each with Pinot Blanc and with Dunkelfelder.

Winery pupil
For almost 100 years we have been running a small traditional winery in Bacharach-Steeg in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley.
On meanwhile 2 hectares of vineyards we produce our characteristic Riesling from the Steillage. The Riesling is characterized by the slate soil and the predominantly more than 50 years old vines in its uniqueness.
